Kurt Mueffelmann, CEO
As CEO, Kurt Mueffelmann brings over 25 years of technology leadership to Nucleus Cyber. He brings his passion for start-ups, and proven strategies for scaling go to market efforts and achieving hyper revenue growth to the role.
Mueffelmann has overseen the growth and sale of four technology companies and earned two Deloitte Fast 500 company awards at previous companies. He has served as CEO of Cryptzone, HiSoftware (acquired by Cryptzone), Create!form International (acquired by Bottomline Technologies), and RealWord (acquired by Microsoft Great Plains). Mueffelmann was Vice President and General Manager of both the Document Output Solutions and Business Process Solutions divisions of Bottomline Technologies where he was responsible for over $40 million in profitable revenue while broadening the product lines and expanding the distribution model.
Mueffelmann has served on the advisory boards of numerous companies and professional organizations within the technology industry. He holds a BA degree in economics and political science from Fairfield University in Connecticut.
Leigh Rowland, CTO
As the Chief Technology Officer, Leigh Rowland is responsible for driving the evolution of the company’s technology to provide a secure, intelligent workplace. Under his leadership, Security Sheriff has expanded from its core strength of protecting documents in SharePoint, to include the protection of Exchange emails and cloud storage repositories, social platforms and collaboration environments.
He began his career at Xerox and has been involved in a series of successful startups as a consultant and development leader including Cyxtera, Cryptzone (acquire by Cyxtera), and Create!form International. He helped build and on-sell the businesses through a strong focus on innovative software solutions. His involvement with Security Sheriff began back in 2011 and he has continued to be involved in the design and development of the industry leading security solution. Rowland earned Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Mathematics from University of York.
Robert Bunn, CFO and COO
Rob Bunn is consultant to and investor in early-stage growth companies across a wide range of industries. He currently serves as Nucleus Cyber’s CFO and COO. Rob is also the founder and managing partner of White Oak Partners, a boutique consultancy through which he serves as an outsourced executive and senior advisor to private companies executing capital market transactions or strategic restructurings.
Bunn previously served as CFO of Sokolove Law, the leading legal marketer in the U.S., and d50 media, an acquisition marketing firm. Both Sokolove and d50 were sold to strategic acquirers in 2013. He also served as vice president of finance and operations for Create!form International, a document output management software company that was sold to a public acquirer. Bunn has extensive M&A and merger integration experience in both advisory (Arthur Andersen) and operational (Ferguson Enterprises) roles.
Bunn earned a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School and a M.Div., magna cum laude, from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
Randy Brown, VP Sales, Americas
As Nucleus Cyber’s Vice President of Sales, Americas, Randy Brown has responsibility for the company’s sales strategy and processes to generate revenue through the company’s direct sales force and various channels of distribution in North and South America. Brown brings over 20 years of sales leadership to Nucleus Cyber, passionately partnering with customers to help them achieve their collaboration and compliance goals, and attain a positive ROI. He has deep domain expertise in Office 365 and SharePoint and enterprise collaboration tools with previous roles as a Sales Director at BA Insight, Regional Sales Director of Cyxtera and sales roles at Colligo and Oracle. Brown holds a BA in Political Science from Gettysburg College.
Steve Marsh, VP Product
Steve Marsh is the Vice President – Product at Nucleus Cyber. He is responsible for driving product management and product marketing to deliver first class customer experiences, strategic product roadmaps and key go to market messaging. Steve brings almost 20 years of product experience to Nucleus Cyber from Microsoft, start-ups and academic research and development.
Prior to joining Nucleus Cyber, Steve spent a number of years at Metalogix where he built out the EMEA marketing and pre-sales functions before moving to global roles that included building and leading product management and product marketing teams and running key Microsoft relationships. He was also part of the company’s leadership team that guided Metalogix to its recent acquisition by Quest. Steve also held a number of roles at Microsoft in the UK including the position of UK SharePoint Product Manager. In this role he was responsible for the revenue and licensing metrics as well as driving the business and marketing strategy for the nine-figure SharePoint product line.
Steve holds a PhD in Microelectronics & Materials Physics and lives in Redmond in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with his wife and highly energetic twin daughter and son.
Irena Mroz, VP Marketing
Irena Mroz is VP of Marketing at Nucleus Cyber and is responsible for defining the company’s branding, demand generation and public relations. An innovative strategist with impeccable attention to detail, Mroz leverages more than 20 years of B2B marketing expertise to direct the company’s marketing strategy and communications programs.
Mroz has built her successful career by empowering start-ups and public software companies to exceed growth objectives through successful demand generation programs, product positioning, high profile events and product evangelism. Most recently, Mroz was the VP of Marketing at Infocyte, a malware and threat hunting solution. She served as the SVP of Marketing for Cryptzone’s network and application security solutions, and the VP of Marketing for HiSoftware, a provider of compliance and security solutions acquired by Cryptzone. She led the integration of the two global marketing organizations, while managing development of all strategic marketing programs and communications for the joint entity. Her previous roles include senior marketing positions at Bottomline Technologies and Create!form International.
Mroz holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Boston University’s College of Communication.
